Shootings

I went to an elementary school like Newtown.
And so did you.
I’ve gone to see a movie just like the people in Aurora, to a high school just like Columbine. I’ve been to a church on Sunday like the people in Charleston and attended a community college like Roseburg.
Happy places, happy times.
Names and places haunted now by gun violence and mass murder.
We live in a civilization of our own manifestation, of collective responsibility, of lawmakers who act for the common good.
We can change the way we live if we so choose. We can make a reality free of fear, a nation that gives up on this hopeless path of gun violence strewn with so many lost lives.
It’s up to each and every one of us to bring this about.
We have to start now.
